Problem & solution (TASK7)

One of the biggest problems facing the world today is global warming. Many experts believe that our production of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases is heating the atmosphere, and thiscould be very dangerous for human life. This essay will examine the problem of global warming and suggest some solutions for it.The film An Inconvenient Truth, directed by Davis Guggenheim, 2006, presented by Al Gore, the weather was changing by year and years . The sea level raisingmaslo the another problem in a DvD explaine how the life become more hard then will be more hurricanes and heat waves in future.

Many problems could result from global warming. One of the biggest is rising sea level. This could result in the flooding of low lying coastal areas and cities, such as Egypt, the Netherlands, and Bangladesh. Another problem is changes in weather patterns. Many areas of the world are experiencing increased hurricanes, floods, and other natural disasters. A final issue associated with this phenomenon is the negative effect on animals. Fish populations could be affected, while some insects which spread disease might become more common ;also dirty coal plants that produce large amounts of carbon dioxide which cause global warming (Knute Nadelhoffer).

Humans can do a lot to reduce Global warming is effects and save the planet. One way is to reduce using oil which produce a lot of carbon dioxide one of the green house gases and the main reason of global warming and depend more on the renewable energy like solar and wind energy. Another solution is to use less energy or electricity. By using less electricity, less oil and recources are going to used and less carbon dioxide is produced but accept the fact that emission of carbon and GHGs cannot be stopped completelly(Kyoto).

In conclusion, making small changes now in the way we live means avoiding huge changes in the future. Scientists, governments and individuals must work together to overcome this serious threat.

Task 6 - Cool City

In this task we watched a cool city video at the beinning of the class : the video talked about the problems since the industrial revolution started . The problems the video mentioned are the population growth then the traffic congestion and the carbon dioxide emissions.

In Japan over the past 30 years the GDP has increased by 100 % and at the same time the energy efficiency was increased and the oil consumption has decreased 8% .

The green city is a cool city with zero carbon dioxide emissions without any environment problems . The transportation has many types like hybrid cars or trains or watertaxis . The zones in the city are Business, Commercial, Cultural and Residential.

There are many ways to solve the environment problems and reduce the heat like tree-planting; waterways; rooftop membranes .There are two types of buildings which would reduce CO2; one is called eco-towers which are going to reduce 50% and the second one is eco-residences and it will reduce about 30%.

In my opinion we should care about the environment because the life will become harder in the future and we can solve the problems to have a nice life on earth so no need for a new earth to live . All people must work with us to overcome these problems .

Carbon Footprint - TASK 5

The carbon footprint is the amount of emissions which affect the earth which l’m responsible for. I had got mine in the http://footprint.wwf.org.uk/ and I felt good and happy that I got the normal number; it was 2.42. The average figure for CRB was 3.778.

The three main factors are:
a) Travel: 29%
b) Stuff: 32%
c) Food 24%

My personal footprint is 2.42

What can I do to reduce my carbon footprint?

I can travel so I love to travel butI see the travel is the biggest thing I should change to reduce to my carbon footprint . I have a nice time in a weekend with my family and friends . The stuff is important and I use more stuff in my day like a personal little things . The food in past I ate anythings but now because I do a bodybuilding and eat healthy food to be healthy man I love to eat meat to much because it has more protein.

How Europe can save the world - (Summary 3)

Summary (PART1)

The European Union has struck a deal which is arguably the most important since its foundation 50 years. German Chancellor Angela Merkel, emerging as a European politician in the great tradition of Adenauer, Brandt, Delors, Mitterand and Kohl, has used the current German presidency of the EU to mastermind an epic commitment on tackling climate change and energy security.

The EU wants to do it best to radically reduced starting from the beginning of next year carbn emisswins good reasons. Renewable energy is expensive and poses environmental dilemmast then wind farms disturb natural habitats; tidal barriers form other barriers to natural flows of marine life. Some adroit political leadership and a growing intellectual and cultural conviction that there has to be change and the 'after you' blockage has been decisively broken. plan to deliver collective European benefits that no one country could achieve alone. Today, carbon remains centre stage, in a diametrically different way . In December, the UN will convene the key meeting in Indonesia to begin the discussions about what treaty will succeed Kyoto. It needs to be tougher on targets for reducing greenhouse gas emissions and it needs to include the Indians, Chinese and Americans.

Main idea (PART2)
The main idea about this summary is how the world can decreas the Co2 in the world; they made a meeting to tell another countries why its important . The world needs more safety and healthy service, also how a big countries do their best to show us how to co-operate in this problem.

Comment ( PART3)
In my opinion the global warming is very important because the life is depends on it . My opinion is the countries should put many points about this problem and care about it by putting attention to this matter . I remeber the movie which i see in a class about the global warming and how the life is changing .

TASK 4 - Reviews of 'An Inconvenient Truth'

Peter Travers thinks that the movie is one of Al Gore lectures about global warming. It included a multimedia slide show and shots, giving speeches and describes his thoughts, about environmental issues that he is worried about. It is frightening and may impact your dreams badly. On the other hand, Gore keeps us fascinated by being aware and deeply believable on the most serous and dangerous issue.

Paul Arendt had another view of the movie; he dislikes Al Gore and his movie because it is as a documentary or drama. Furthermore, he does not think that it sounds too thrilling but it is at the same time a good presentation to a live audience. He thinks that Gore passed over the world with his half an hour presentation which contains terms that describe how we affected the environmental harmfully. He also has proofs of his thoughts as diagrams, and images to show seriousness of the issue. Finally, he blames the director of his choice of annoying shots of Gore.
I liked the Inconveiment Truth movie because it discuses important issue that affects our life, others, and coming generation. It is a film, which will motivate people to reduce and minimize their destruction of the planet.

As a conclusion, I agree with Al Gore, because he has a big view in global warming, so he wants people to take care of the planet. No matter what others say about him. We have to preserve the earth to live in it for a better life.
